Where can I use the MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device on my body?

The MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device is intended for single patient use to collect capillary blood from persons aged two years and older. The alternative site testing endcap is intended to collect fingertip capillary blood from the palm in adult persons only.12

What lancets are compatible with my MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device?

Your MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device is specifically designed to work with MICROLET^®NEXT Lancets.

What should I do if my MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device does not puncture?

Your MICROLET^®NEXT Lancing Device has five different depth settings and is made from stainless steel (28-gauge needle) and medical-grade plastic (needle housing). You can adjust the puncture depth as needed by rotating the endcap dial between the settings. The puncture depth ranges from 1.25 mm (Setting 1) to 2.75 mm (Setting 5) with 0.4 mm or less between each setting.12 The amount of pressure applied to the puncture site also affects the puncture depth.

Decent quality but no longer European made!

"In spring through summer of 2025, I was having trouble finding Microlet lancets in-stock in my local stores, DME supplier and online! My DME supplier told me why! They told me the UPC Code was changed and the NDC Code for insurance billing was also changed! Here is why! Ascensia Diabetes Care Holdings AG recently decided to switch contract manufacturers for their Microlet NEXT lancets in early 2024! Over apparent cost-cutting measures! Their long-term contract manufacturer in Poland, HTL-Strefa was notified by Ascensia Diabetes Care Holdings AG in early 2024, that they would not be renewing their contract them! Their contract with HTL-Strefa was ended in 2024! In June 2024, Ascensia Diabetes Care Holdings AG decided to contract with SteriLance Medical (Suzhou) Inc. in China! Yes, China! Information was obtained at FDA. gov (test for Microlet NEXT lancets from SteriLance listed for June 2024)! Medical devices and supplies sold in the United States that are insurance billable must be registered with the U. S. FDA! If the seller of the product is not the manufacturer, then the manufacturer of the product must be disclosed and listed on filing for approval! So, now the Microlet NEXT lancets are no longer the European quality lancets of old! The packaging was changed slightly. They added the "NEXT" word after the word Microlet! The package shape changed slightly as well! You have been forewarned! Now these lancets are no different than any other Made in China lancets! Which is now probably 95% of the lancets sold worldwide! SteriLance is a major company from China that contract manufactures for many other brands as well! During the changeover of manufacturers and supply shortage, I found the Freestyle brand lancets through my DME supplier! Which are also universal fit lancets! The Freestyle lancets are the only brand to my knowledge Manufactured in the U. S. A. , Atlanta, Georgia to be exact! So, I switched to Freestyle lancets exclusively because I refuse to support China made products whenever possible! The Microlet NEXT lancets Made in China are decent and comparable to the old European made ones! I just cannot get myself to continue purchasing them after find this out and finding a U. S. -Made brand of lancets as well!"
