How do I set up my CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE meter?

There are two ways you can set up your CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE meter: on the meter itself, or by using the Contour™ Diabetes App provided by Ascensia Diabetes Care. For instructions on initial setup from the meter itself, please refer to the User Guide included with your meter. To set up your meter using the app, download the CONTOUR^®DIABETES app on your smartphone or mobile device, open the app, tap ‘Get started,’ and follow the instructions. This will configure both the meter and the app simultaneously.

What is the SmartLIGHT™ feature and what do the colors mean?

The SmartLIGHT™ feature on the CONTOUR^®NEXT GEN meter and CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE meter gives you instant feedback on your blood glucose results.3, 7 It immediately identifies your blood sugar levels as above, below, or within the target range to help you make informed decisions about your diabetes care. This feature can be switched off if you prefer not to use it.

Green = within target
Amber = above target
Red = below target

What is Second-Chance^® Sampling?

Second-Chance^® Sampling is another useful feature of the CONTOUR^®NEXT GEN meter3 and CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE meters.7 If your initial blood sample is insufficient to take a blood glucose reading, Second-Chance^® sampling allows you to apply more blood to the same test strip instead of using a new one. This can help you:

Avoid having to prick your finger again.2
Waste fewer test strips (and lancets).2

What is the benefit of No Coding^® technology?

No Coding^® technology eliminates the need for manual calibration or entering a code before testing. Each lot of test strips contain embedded calibration information in the strip pattern itself. When a test strip is inserted, the meter automatically reads this information and calibrates accordingly.

Is the CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE blood glucose monitoring system accurate?

The CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE blood glucose monitoring system has demonstrated highly accurate results, exceeding the minimum accuracy requirements of the ISO 15197:2013 standard.

*The CONTOUR^®NEXT ONE system has been shown to deliver a ±8.4 mg/dL or ±8.4% error margin in the overall range.4

*Minimum accuracy requirements of ISO15197: 2013 Section 6.3 standard require ≥95% of the measured values to fall within ±15 mg/dL at glucose concentrations <100 mg/dL or within ±15% ≥100 mg/dL of the referenced method.

"We recently moved from South Korea to the United States, and since my child has Type 1 Diabetes, we had to set up new blood glucose supplies here. Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover Contour Next products, so we have been purchasing them out of pocket. Even so, we are very satisfied with this product. It requires only a small amount of blood and is easy to use. My child is also comfortable using it and is happy with it. Overall, we are very pleased with the Contour Next test strips."

Totally worth the money 🥰

"I would highly recommend this product. You cant beat the price for the great accuracy. If you wear a CGM and wana know if it is worth ur money, this will highly confirm that. Whenever i was suspiscious about my cgm readings, contour had proved it was accurate. And when my OTC CGM couldnt read my BELOW 70 blood sugar, contour confirmed my hypoglycemia symptoms and my blood sugar if 49. It saved my life in a way 😆 it was worth every penny. Watch the video, saves a lot of time in figuring out the setup. Buy the calibration solutions as well. It is important to ensure ur device is working properly. Lancets depth easily adjustable with that thingy u use to adjust depth 😁 now is there a warranty on this product, that I havent looked at yet."

The test result is inaccurate

"Within the same two-minute period, I received test results that were drastically different—one reading was 93 and the other was 109. I also tested a friend, and his result was 109 as well. This has caused me to seriously question the accuracy of your product. I have lost confidence in it and no longer wish to use any of your products."

"It was to replace a meter that I was concerned about accuracy. It is easy to use, and that if not enough blood it lets me add a drop. I use it primarily to check my cgm for calibration. It is small enough to put into a pocket and definitely when we travel it come with."
